Obvious typographical errors have been silently corrected. Variationsin hyphenation have been standardised but other spelling andpunctuation remains unchanged. Variable spelling of the names of herbshave been corrected in the case of Stæchus which was sometimes spelledStæchas and Zedoary sometimes spelled Zeadory.
The introductory text to Part II appears to have been erroneouslyheaded Chapter I. It has no subtitle and is not listed in the Contents.To avoid the confusion of duplicated Chapter numbers, this heading has beenremoved.
