More than ten years ago when I began teaching hygiene inthe Palmer School of Chiropractic, I realized the need of atext-book that would deal with this subject from a chiropracticstandpoint.
Many points maintained by hygienists are not in accordwith the teaching of Chiropractic, since they are proven untrueby our philosophy. For this reason much subject matter insuch text-books was of no value to our students; hence thenecessity for a chiropractic hygiene text.
It has been no easy task to prepare this subject matter inview of the conflicting teachings and ideas pertaining to thevarious phases of hygiene, but the principles of Chiropracticare in no way compromised and the student, from a casualperusal of any one particular phase of the subject, should notdraw conclusions that any medical theories of dis-ease arebeing tolerated.
An effort has been made to include only that part of hygienepertaining to our science. Since sanitation pertains especiallyto the environment,
