The German Imperial Chancellor'sReichstag speech with regard to theBattle of Jutland was, according to TheDaily Mail, delivered with "an eye onWashington." Not George, of course.


According to the German official announcement,the sinking of the Lützowwas concealed for "military reasons."It is only reasonable to assume thatother and larger prevarications concerningthe North Sea battle may beascribed to "naval reasons."


A remarkable omission from theGerman account of the Naval battleoff Jutland is observed. There is nomention of the destruction of H.M.S.Blockade.


According to the CroydonPublic Library Committee,"readers are turningto Thackeray, Dickens,George Eliot and JaneAusten for relief from warworry."
